Christmas in the Village runs from Nov. 27 to Dec. 24 this year, so which of those 28 days has the most going on downtown? The parade gets the posters. But Saturday, Dec. 5, is the day Main Street Zionsville lists with the most events stacked together: the Zionsville Showchoir Holiday Home Tour, the Tri Kappa Santa Breakfast and the Zionsville Parks Winter Market, all on one date. Santa's weekend hours and the first carriage rides of the year fall on that day too.
Five events in one Saturday changes how the day should be planned. Each one has its own ticket rules and its own few hours, and only some of them are within walking distance of Cedar and Main.
No single group runs Christmas in the Village. The Zionsville Chamber of Commerce runs the parade, Small Business Weekend, the Santa House, the carriage rides, Ladies' Night and the Christmas Crawl. Zionsville Parks and Recreation presents the maker's market in partnership with the Chamber. The Zionsville Show Choirs put on the home tour. Tri Kappa's Zeta Sigma chapter holds the breakfast, and SullivanMunce Cultural Center runs its own art market and co-hosts the carriage route.
The Chamber has said plainly how small its own operation is. "The chamber is a team of two," Chamber Assistant Director Chris Woolridge told Current in Zionsville last year, adding that the Christmas in the Village committee "is made up entirely of business owners." On Dec. 5, events from the Chamber, Parks and Recreation, the Show Choirs, Tri Kappa and SullivanMunce all share the same Saturday.
Start with breakfast. Tri Kappa lists its 2026 Santa Breakfast for Saturday, Dec. 5, and tickets went on sale Nov. 1 through the chapter's website. The chapter puts its fundraising toward Boone County nonprofits, Zionsville Community Schools and scholarships for Zionsville seniors studying culture and education.
After that, the day runs in a fairly neat order:
The time slots barely overlap at the ends. The market wraps up at noon, an hour after Santa arrives. Santa leaves at 3 p.m., the same time the first carriage pulls away from his front door. A family could do the market, then Santa, then a carriage ride without ever moving the car off Main Street. The home tour is the exception.
The home tour's six houses are spread across town. The tour's homes page includes stops in Stonegate and Holliday Farms, one in the Village and one out on East 300 South. That means a morning on Main Street and an afternoon at the tour homes involve some driving, and the six-hour tour window from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. leaves room to split the day.
Tickets are $25, and children 10 and under get in free. Advance tickets are sold at Fivethirty Home, Great Lakes Ace Hardware and Village Mattress, or by any show choir student. Tickets sold at the homes on the day are cash only. If you'd rather pay with a card, or don't want to hunt for an ATM between Holliday Farms and Stonegate, buy ahead at one of those three shops.
The money goes back to the students who are singing in the living rooms. The tour's about page names the Choralaires and Royalaires as the ensembles it supports.
The carriage schedule is the biggest reason to treat the first weekend of December as more than one busy Saturday. When the Chamber added village carriage tours in 2025, Current in Zionsville reported they would run every weekend in December. The 2026 flyer lists four afternoons, all from 3 to 5 p.m.:
There are no rides on the weekend of Dec. 12 and 13. That leaves two windows, and Dec. 5 opens the first one.
Sylo Apartments–Zionsville presents the rides this year, in partnership with SullivanMunce Cultural Center. The route passes some of the Village's residential streets and Zionsville's Century Structures. The carriage leaves the Santa Claus House at Cedar and Main, heads west to Elm, north to Walnut and west to 5th Street, then turns left onto Cedar and comes back east to Main Street. It's a short loop through the blocks just west of downtown, the kind of drive most locals have done a hundred times and almost never at the pace of a horse.
Dec. 5 sits a week after the official kickoff and two weeks before the second carriage weekend. Here is the full 2026 calendar, from the Chamber's Christmas in the Village page and Main Street Zionsville's events list:

The parade lands on Saturday, Nov. 28, one day earlier on the calendar than last year's Nov. 29 parade. The route from Eagle Elementary to Old National Bank and the 5 to 6:30 p.m. window are the same, with the tree lighting right after. The maker's market follows the same pattern. It ran Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, from 9 a.m. to noon and keeps that morning slot this year on Dec. 5. Both are holdovers, not new events, so the first Saturday in December has been this crowded before. This year it also gets the opening carriage weekend.
Between the two carriage weekends, the Village calendar moves to weeknights. Ladies' Night is Thursday, Dec. 10, from 5 to 9 p.m. on Main Street, presented by Radiant Skin, with specials at participating businesses. The Christmas Crawl follows a week later, on Thursday, Dec. 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. It's presented by Cobblestone of Zionsville, it's for ages 21 and up, and an ugly-sweater contest starts at 8 p.m. at participating locations.
Those two evenings are mainly for shopping and restaurants, with no ticket and no route to follow. Dec. 5 is the only date this season with a ticketed tour, a free market, Santa and a carriage ride all in one day. For anyone hosting out-of-town family that weekend, the two tickets to buy ahead are the Tri Kappa breakfast, through the chapter's website, and the home tour, at Fivethirty Home, Great Lakes Ace Hardware or Village Mattress, which saves bringing cash to the tour homes.
If a December spent in the Village has you thinking about which Zionsville streets you'd like to live on, the team at Duke Collective knows these blocks well, from the carriage loop along Walnut and 5th to the neighborhoods on this year's home tour.
